I fell in love with rats after I was given my very first one, Lucifina. She had the sweetest personality and loved to cuddle. She was given to me in her middle age and I took care of her until she passed. She helped me realize what wonderful pets they made and that I wanted to have more with her wonderful personality.
I got into breeding because I realized that, where I was living at the time, most of the pet stores didn't take good care of their animals. Some of them wouldn't even let you hold them before you took them home. I decided to breed so that I could have healthy, friendly pets, and give others healthy and friendly pets too. The babies were wonderful, like their parents, and I was glad to give others rats that were more suitable as pets.
I have since moved and am setting up a rattery here. The adult rats I own are all wonderful and sweet and are healthy as well. I'm also happy to report that their babies are nice and healthy too. If any rat showed signs of illness or was aggressive it would not be adopted out or bred.
I'm not well known, but I've gotten good feedback from people who have actually adopted some of my babies. I care about my animals and am prepared to keep any that don't find homes. I'm also willing to drive short distances to meet potential adoptees because I do NOT ship animals.
Also, if you feel I've labeled a color or marking wrong feel free to email me and explain why I might be wrong. There are many colors, and variations, and online pictures don't always do a rat justice.
All rats must be adopted out in pairs unless you have another rat, or more, at home. Rats are very social and they live in family groups in the wild. It's not healthy for them to live on their own, so they must go in pairs unless you currently have rats of the same sex you're looking to adopt. Right now a single rat is $10 and it's $15 for a pair.
